With swings like this Chris Sweeney is making it look easy. The King's College Monarch senior is on the mark when it comes to hitting leading all of Division III with a .576 bating average.

"A lot of hard is going into this season, and I'm so happy with the way I've been playing. The team is also starting to come around. Today was a big win for us hopefully we can turn things around get some wins towards the end of the season here," said Chris Sweeney.

During his current 21 game hit streak Sweeney leads the nation in slugging percentage, 2nd in home runs per game, and 2nd in rbi's.

"With some success comes less pitches to see. So I've had to be more patient than I've been in years past. So my walk totals are definitely something that I've worked hardest on kind of just with being patient," again said Chris.

"I've been involved in college baseball as a coach for 24 years and at the pro level for 16. He's just having an absolutely unbelievable season. He has an outstanding approach and he is not intimidated by anybody," said Jerry Greeley.

To get ready for his season here at King's-Chris has used the last few summers to his advantage playing for the Alexandria Aces in a Cal Ripken league down in Virginia with some of the best college talent in the country.

"I Learned a lot not just about the game, but about myself as a player. I was able to work on a lot of things and I definitely attribute a lot of the success I'm having this year to the experience I've had down there," said Chris.

In that Ripken league last summer Chris made the all-star team ahead of many Division I players. 24 scouts from different major league ball clubs caught a glimpse of Sweeney's sweet swing. The Major League Baseball draft is approaching and Chris's confidence is flying high.

"It's what everybody plays the game for-everybody wants that to be the last stop."
