PORTER TOWNSHIP — State police in Schuylkill County arrested a man they believe broke into a convenience store early Sunday morning.
According to troopers, Herbert Seifrit, 49, was arrested and charged for breaking into Top Star in Porter Township near Tower City.
State police said Seifrit used a pry bar to smash the glass front door. Authorities said he tried to open the cash register but then stole cigarettes instead.
He is locked up in Schuylkill County jail.
