A fire company in Luzerne County is trying to make up money it lost during the flood of 2011.
Plymouth Fire Company held its first ever Spring Fling Saturday at the Tilbury station.
The event included a spaghetti dinner, a DJ and cash bar.
The fire company had to cancel its "Horror Hall" Halloween fundraiser when flood waters came rushing into the station.
The water ruined the firefighters radios and other equipment, as well as their ballroom where they host social functions.
Erica Hontz and those who remember the flood say the firefighters did a great job during the disaster, “They did a great job keeping everybody safe and taking care of the community and really living up to people’s expectations of what firefighters and everybody else in the company should be.”
Organizers say the Spring Fling will be an annual event.
Money raised will go to buy new equipment for the fire department in Luzerne County.
