Coroner: Man Dead After Being Rescued From Fire

THROOP -- A man is dead a week after he was pulled from fire in Lackawanna County.

Police believed Thomas McDonnell, 50, set a mattress on fire at his home on Memorial Avenue in Throop earlier this month.

He died yesterday at the Lehigh Valley Burn Center.

The coroner ruled Mcdonnell's death a suicide.
