HANOVER TOWNSHIP -- One person was killed in a crash in Luzerne County.
Authorities tell us a car collided with another vehicle around 11 p.m. Wednesday along the Sans Souci Parkway outside Nanticoke.
Police tell us the car was coming out of a parking lot in Hanover Township, when it collided with another vehicle.
Investigators identified Daniel Markowski, 68, of Nanticoke as the victim. Detectives believe his car was hit from behind by a car driven by John Ward.
Markowski was thrown from his car when it rolled. He was taken Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center where he later died.
Police believe Ward, 21, was driving under the influence of alcohol. They’re waiting for blood tests. They also believe Ward was driving at a very high rate of speed before the crash.
No charges have been filed.
