SOUTH CANAAN TOWNSHIP -- Dozens came out in Lackawanna County with their furry friends to help out a good cause.

Marywood University students hosted an event aimed to raise money for the organization "Paws and Stripes".  The fundraiser was held Sunday afternoon at the Abington Dog Park in Clarks Summit.

The group helps provide service dogs for wounded military veterans.

Veterans who attended said it has helped so many people for those who need it the most.

"Paws and Stripes is helping rehabilitate. Great opportunity to help service members who's given so much to us," said Julia Casper, of South Canaan Township.

The event highlighted local vendors, music, and a doggie talent show.
