Person Rescued From Flames

THROOP -- One person is in the hospital and others were forced from their home by an early morning fire in Lackawanna County.

Flames started in a housing complex on Memorial Drive in Throop around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities said one person was pulled from the fire and rushed to the hospital.  There is no word on the victim's condition.

Crews said people in connected homes were forced out due to smoke.

The Red Cross is helping those affected by the fire.

A fire marshal will investigate the cause
