The 2013 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders home opener is this Thursday, April 4th at 7pm against the Pawtucket Red Sox. The last game took place in September of 2011 when the franchise was known as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.

The finishing touches are taking place all week-long in preparation for the first pitch to be thrown out by legendary Yankee Reggie Jackson. Construction workers are putting in the grass in the outfield lawn seats out beyond the right field and left field walls. Fans will be able to watch pitchers and catchers warm up in the bullpen. The renovated inner concourse allows fans to get close the players and the action on the field. You can also walk all the way around PNC field now while not missing a pitch.

Temperatures look to be near 60 degrees for the majority of the day on Thursday. Pawtucket is here for a four game stand then Rochester comes in for three.

The SWB RailRiders first road game is at Buffalo on April 11th.
