WILKES-BARRE -- Just in time for Easter Sunday, a church community in Northeastern Pennsylvania opened another one of its locations, this one in Luzerne County.

Parishioners at Parker Hill Community Church in Wilkes-Barre, say they are excited for the new location, and hope to attract many more people to join the congregation.

A celebration on this Easter for dozens of current and brand new members of the Parker Hill Community Church in Wilkes-Barre.

Many are excited to call this their new home, and thankful for another place they can come together and worship.

"When I come here whether I'm working with the kids or coming to services, I love that I am learning what helps me in my life."

The church, which is non-denominational, has two other locations, one in Clarks Summit, and another in Dickson City.

Members say opening this church in the Wilkes-Barre area will make it much easier for those in the Wyoming Valley to make Sunday services.

"We're really excited to start our third campus for Parker Hill, this is the Wilkes-Barre locations and we're excited to serve the people in the Wilkes-Barre area," says Pastor Wayne Morgan of Parker Hill Community Church.

The new location also has classrooms for children who want to learn each week at Sunday school.

"We have a full children's ministry which is from birth to eighth grade every Sunday morning at 10:30, we're excited to serve families," says Pastor Morgan.

The pastors tell us, the over all goal is to be "one church in many places" So that hundreds of thousands of people in Northeastern Pennsylvania are within a reasonable driving distance to a Parker Hill Campus.

"As long as we continue to reach people, as long as the church continues to grow, our approach is to create new locations and new campuses wherever people are coming from to drive to Parker Hill Community Church," says Pastor Mark Stuenzi of Parker Hill Community Church.
