FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP –There will be no guests staying at a hotel after a fire in Carbon County.

Firefighters said a dumpster fire spread to the Hampton Inn near Lehighton late Friday night.

No one is allowed to stay there until an air purification process in complete, and the manager believes it won't be complete until next week.

Franklin Township’s fire chief told Newswatch 16 that the dumpster fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. Friday, and that the flames quickly spread up the side of the three-story hotel.

Authorities said more than two dozen hotel guests were forced out by the three-alarm fire.

Firefighters said no one was hurt, and that guests were taken to a nearby hotel for the night.

A state police fire marshal was called to investigate the hotel fire in Carbon County.
