Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defensemen Robert Bortuzzo played a very large role for his team last year in the AHL Calder Cup playoffs. That play allowed Bortuzzo to crack the lineup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League.

Just this week Bortuzzo laced up the skates again here in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on a conditioning assignment sent down from the NHL. In his first game back the Penguins defeated Binghamton 4-2 Bortuzzo playing in front of goalie Jeff Zatkoff the #1 goalie right now in the AHL and again on Friday night Bortuzzo logged plenty of minutes and helped WBS earn one point in a 3-2 shootout loss to Providence.
