PLYMOUTH — People were forced out of their homes after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Luzerne County Thursday night.

Authorities said the blaze started at the building on the corner of Academy Street and Shawnee Avenue in Plymouth around 6:30 p.m.

One man was taken to the hospital to be checked out for breathing in too much smoke.

Fire crews told us people who live in the building should be able to return once things are cleaned up.

Fire officials said they don’t believe the fire is suspicious, but a fire marshall is investigating.
