STROUDSBURG -- The sunshine was perfect for Sunday's St. Patrick's Parade in Monroe County.
Hundreds of people lined Main Street in Stroudsburg for the 36th annual parade.
The event featured plenty of marching bands, including some traditional bagpipers, plenty of dancers, and even some furry friends dressed in green for the occasion.
The parade in Monroe County wraps up the last of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations in our area.
On Saturday, the chilly weather did not keep thousands of people in Schuylkill County from celebrating St. Patrick's Day.
More than 15,000 people filled downtown Girardville for the community's 10th annual parade and festivities.
Besides the bands and floats, there was also a contest for the best house decorations.
We found folks from as far away as Pittsburgh taking part in all the fun.
"I originated from County Kerry, Ireland 50 years ago, and our St. Patrick's Days are nothing like they are in Ireland," said Maggie O'Donoghue Cloonan. "Its just so wonderful. I think they open up their homes, their houses are decorated. It's just so wonderful for us."
