POCONO TOWNSHIP — A traffic stop in the Poconos led to an arrest for a smash-and-grab theft.
Authorities said Terence McArdle, 32, of Tannersville was pulled over by police in Pocono Township on Wednesday for driving under the influence.
McArdle was then taken into custody because police believe he is the man who stole over $20,000 worth of watches from Ultra Diamond, a jewelry store at the Crossings in Pocono Township, in October of 2012.
Police said they recognized McArdle from surveillance video of the smash-and-grab, but he denied all accusations.
McArdle is charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and criminal conspiracy.
He is locked up on $25,000 bail.
