STROUDSBURG — A store in Monroe County got some recognition Wednesday for helping to feed the hungry.
The Shoprite on Third Street in Stroudsburg raised more than $16,000.
That money goes to help local food pantries such as the one at the Salvation Army.
“It helps to supplement our incomes and be able to give back to our community by giving food we normally would not be able to,” said Jill Brink of the Salvation Army.
Some of the homeless community who live under the Veterans Memorial Bridge next to Shoprite stopped by as well to thank the grocery store for their kindness.
