DeSisti Will Not Face Death Penalty

TOWANDA — Prosecutors have withdrawn the death penalty from a double murder case against a man in Bradford County.

The state attorney general’s office says since John DeSisti is in his mid-70s, they will not seek the death penalty.

DeSisti is accused of killing his cousin and her husband near Athens in 2006.

At a pre-trial hearing Thursday, prosecutors said they are ready to take the case to trial.
