  • Darrell Horton of Elred NY, and Ron Wagner Sunbury PA take home 1st place on January 5th at the Rose Valley lake tournament held by the Northeast Panfish League with an 11 fish bag weighing 10.29 lbs. with their biggest fish (a crappie) weighing in at 2.05 lbs. Horton and Wagner were one fish short of a 12 fish weigh in limit set by the NEPL.

  • I spotted this Snowy Owl in a field right off the intersection of RT 29 and Noxen Road in Wyoming County on my way home from work on Wednesday, January 15th.   • this largemouth bass was one of a few caught through the ice on Lake Silkworth. This bass was about 15 inches and was pulled out of the ice by John Barilla with the help of his buddies who als caught bass. They are Mike Dobinick and Don Kintz. Mike was fishing for crappies with a small jig when a large fish hit his line and he could not get it up out of the ice. It bent the hook straight out. Fish unknown. This was on saturday the 11th.

  • Ciara Warner a 7th grade student at North Schuylkill Jr/Sr High School harvested this Jake during the 2013 fall turkey season while hunting with her dad in Luzerne County. Ciara used the new shotgun purchase by her grandfather for the first time

  • 17 year old Stephen Barnyock from Llewellyn with a drake Hooded Merganser that was shot in Schuylkill County. I was hunting with my good friend, Stephen as well, when the two drakes came zipping past the decoy spread. It's a true rarity and possibly a once in a lifetime experience.   • Trevor Williams from Canton Pa. went to Maine Snow shoe hare hunting with his grandpa Bill Robinson and his beagles. It was Trevor's first time to Maine hare hunting. Trevor shot three hare using his 20 gauge shot gun. Trevor had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it again next year.

  • We were out ice fishing at Lackawanna State Park on Sunday Jan 5 up in Bullhead bay. Dave McGovern of Lake Winola( to the right) is holding a 24" pickerel that Troy Kester of Clarks Summit( to the left) caught on a tip up. It was a good day with 4 more pickerel, several bass and crappies landed. All fish returned to lake to catch another day.

  • Makenna Butler 12, of Lock Haven Pa had a very successful season while hunting with her dad Steve in Clinton county. She was able to get her doe during the youth hunt, her bear on the first day of rifle bear season and a buck on the 2nd day of rifle deer season.

  • Junior Hunter, Levi Simpson age 14 from Tuscarora Twp. Pa. Downed a 5 point buck while hunting the last day of the hunting season. He used a 270 rifle. He was hunting with his Uncles and a Family Friend. This is Levi's third year of hunting. Levi also shot a doe this season.

  • My name is Dan McCloskey, I'm in the wheelchair. I shot this one the first Sat. in Farrandsville Pa. (2G) on a good friend's land. That's my friend Curt Knowland that hunted with, and helped me out. This is my first deer since being paralyzed in January 2011. Not the biggest deer but anything from a wheelchair is a trophy.

  • 15 yr old Ethan Rhodes from Wyalusing was determined to get a racked buck. Making his own decisions, Ethan passed up 5 small bucks before scoring his first 8 point buck! Good Hunting Ethan!

  • AJ Rhodes from Wyalusing harvested this beautiful first buck on opening day while hunting with his Dad and the guys at the cabin in Lycoming County. Very excited after seeing the deer drop, AJ turned back to his dad and asked very excitedly, "Can we go to Wal-mart and buy another tag??!!!!" I think he's hooked! HA HA

  • This is 11 year old Evan Baker of Lock Haven. This is his first deer taken on the first day of doe season, while being mentored by his father Dan Baker. He shot this deer using a 308 Ruger rifle. It was a very proud moment shared by father and son!!

  • Ken George shot this 13 point on the second day of buck season. It was shot on our family farm in Williamsport, PA. This big buck was brought down by a 300 Winchester Magnum at 455 yards.

  • Former POL guest, Greg Walsh, shot this heavy mass 8 pointer in Lackawanna County opening day. I wanted to take him with my bow but he never presented me with a reasonable shot. Good things happen when patience prevails over anxiety!

  • Joseph Caparo Jr of Covington township, shot this 190 pound 8 point buck in mount pleasant township Wayne county at 7:00 a.m. on December 7 th. 2013 He shot this deer using a 1937 Mosin Nagant 7.62 x 54R 180 gr soft point with one shot at 150 yards.

  • Evan Brody of Wyoming County with the help of a lot of "leg work" from friend Chris Layaou was able to make a good shot on his first deer the last day of the rifle deer season. Evan was using a youth model .243 Savage Axis and participating in a mentored hunt with his Dad, Roy Brody.

  • Pete Dolan of Lock Haven, Pa. I Shot this 10Pt. buck the second second day of the rifle season using my trusty Remington model 700 6mm that my dad bought for me 30 some years ago.The buck had an 18 and a half inch spread and was shot in Clinton county.

  • Robert Eyer of Berwick, Pa shot this 10 Point buck with a 21 inch outside spread on the second Monday of the 2013 season. This is the biggest buck Robert has ever seen in 65 years of hunting and only his second successful buck harvest in 40 years. Persistence pays off.

  • Spencer Jones, 10 years old, shot his first doe with his father Dennis Jones Jr and grandfather Dennis Jones Sr on October 25, 2013. It was the first time he was ever even in the woods hunting and within 2 hours had his first deer. We aren't sure which of the 3 was the most excited over it.

  • Owen Lundy 8 yrs. old from Kunkletown Pa ,shot a 6 point buck while hunting with his dad in Kunkletown.It was Owen's first deer .

  • Chris Gale, of Pittston Township, harvested this 9 point buck on the first day of rifle deer season. Fifteen minutes later, he harvested this black bear by using his 308 Browning rifle while hunting in Lackawanna county gamelands.

  • Chase Bender, age 6, of Schuylkill County. First year hunting and shoots a spike buck on Dec. 13. While out hunting with his dad and mom at the Broad Mountain Hunting Club.

  • Blaine Cramer, 10, of Middleburg, took advantage of the Mentored Youth program to down this big button buck, his first deer, on the last day of the rifle season while hunting with his dad on their farm in Middlecreek Township, Snyder County. Blaine downed the deer with a single shot using a .257 Roberts that was passed down from his great-grandfather.

  • Austin Boyer (age 14) from Auburn, PA, bagged his 1st buck, a 4 pt. taken on his family's farm in West Brunswick Township, on the last day of rifle season. This was Austin's 1st full season of hunting. He also bagged a doe in the early muzzleloader season. Both deer where taken while Austin was hunting with his grandfather, Lewis Hoy Jr.

  • This is 13yr old Tyler Dubik with his 8-point buck he shot while hunting with his step-dad Neil and Uncle Greg. They were hunting on Neil's family's land in Meshoppen. He used Neil's Remington 7mm 08 rifle. This is Tyler's first buck.

  • James Mazonis shot this 9 point buck on Duryea Mountain , luzerne county. while hunting with his nephew Paul Taft JR. On December 12th.

  • 11 year old Wyatt Faust of Northumberland shot his first deer on a farm in Irish Valley. He was being mentored by his father for the mentor youth program. He was super excited.

  • 14 yr Stephanie Stafursky of Athens,Pa shot this 8pt (14.5 in spread) buck with her .243 on 12/7/13 in Athens Twp/Bradford Co. while hunting with her mom and dad.Stephie watched the buck come across a field from over 300 yds before shooting it at 55 yds in the neck. This was Steph's 2nd buck in 2 yrs.

  • I shot this buck on the second Monday 12/09/2013 in Susquehanna County It had a 18 in spread. Jack Lasher Montrose, Pa

  • Eric Nilsson, Avis PA (right) and Bryan Nilsson, Everette PA (left) harvested these two bucks on the first day of rifle season. Eric took the 9 pt at 8am with a Remington 30-06, and his brother Bryan took the 6 pt at 3pm with a Browning 30-06 from the same tree Eric had been hunting from in the morning. The deer were taken from their families cabin in Forest Co. PA in the Allegheny national forest.

  • Name: Bill Williams Hometown: Scranton This Buck was harvested on December 7 2013. The buck has 11 score-able points with one broken drop tine and another one that's left in tact. I woulde personally like to make a "shout-out/Thank You" to everyone I hunted with on the Kintners Farm in Mehoopany, PA for allowing me to hunt with them through out the years and allowing me to harvest this once in a life time animal.

  • Name: Bill Williams Hometown: Scranton, PA Bear was harvested on December 3, 2013. During the first Week of the combination of Buck and Bear Season in 3B using my fathers 300 Winchester magnum because he had thought a bear was going to be coming out on this push and wanted to make sure I had enough gun just in case. The Bear was harvested in Mehoopany. Bear weighed in at 194 lbs. P.S. - I'm submitting another photo of the buck I harvested that Saturday with the same group of hunters.

  • This is 8 yr old Emma's second year as a mentored youth hunter. Last year we saw nothing. On opening day she had a buck shot out from before her. she was becoming discouraged. On the second day of rifle season she finally got a shot at an antlerless deer. She astounded her Mom and Poppie with an amazing 100yd shot that resulted in this well earned button buck. The .223 shot was perfectly placed and the deer took only two steps and dropped. Emma insisted on helping dress her own deer and then drug it nearly all the way to the truck by herself! Emma hiked the mountain to her spot 2 days in a row, carried her own backpack, and struggled to sit still in the cold both days. She did everything just as she was taught and was so patient as Mom called the deer in for the shot. Emma, we're so proud of you! Love Mommy, Daddy, Poppie, Grammy, Ashton, Aunt Kristen, Uncle Jim, Jimmy, and Mae!

  • This 13 point buck was harvested the first day of rifle season in Forest Lake, PA. 18 year old Brandon Weaver shot this incredible deer while hunting with his dad, Glenn and older brother, Trever.

  • Brenton Harner age 9 of Valley View shot this beautiful 6 pointer with his 243 rifle while being mentored by his father Chad Harner in Schuylkill County. This is Brentons second buck that he was able to harvest under the Mentored youth Program.

  • This is the 7 point, 120LB buck that Christopher Stola ,6 of Nescopeck shot on the family farm in Berwick, Luzerne county at 9:30am on the first Saturday. Christopher down this buck with one shot with his Rem.243 at 100 yds. Being mentored by his uncle, Carl Stola of Berwick. Christopher is planning to have jerky made with his deer.

  • Taken December 7, 2013 on his family property in Valley Township, Montour County. Marcus is 18 years old and this is his 3rd buck in 4 years. His 7 pt buck had an 18 inch inside spread. He shot it with his Ruger 30-06 rifle.

  • Rich Rice of Jim Thorpe with Dave Feller, Al the Fly Man Smith and Tucker Trice, all limited out with their Stripers on a recent trip to Warestown NJ. Al the Fly Man landed two of his stripers on his 10' fly rod. What a battle it was as well as fun to watch.

  • This buck was taken on the opening day of the buck season on state games lands in Thornhurst. This buck weight 175 dressed.

  • Kasey Ansbach 11yrs old of Tamaqua, PA shot this spiker on the first day of rifle season, while being mentored by his dad, Donny Ansbach and step-mom Amy Ansbach. Kasey has been a mentored hunter since he is six years old and is very proud of his first deer. He shot the buck with his great grandfather's 30-30 rifle.

  • 12 year old Lukas Hallock with his first deer. Lukas was hunting in Susquehanna County with his Grandfather and two Uncles when after lunch this doe came out of the thickets. One shot from a 35 lever action Marlin at 90 yards was all it took.

  • Chris Yablonski, The Salmon King, does more than just fish. I shot this 8 point 150 lb buck on the first day of buck season. It was trotting about 75 yrds away and I hit it on the run with the first shot. I was hunting at Painters Den Sullivan County.
