Man in Custody After Assault in Scranton

SCRANTON — A man is in custody after an incident Wednesday night in Scranton

Police and fire officials blocked off part of a neighborhood after a domestic incident.

Investigators tell us they responded to a home along Cherry Street. Inside Richard Conte, 64, refused to come out and held police at bay for more than an hour and a half.

Officers tell us Conte was not armed and did not have anyone in the home with him. He faces several charges, including aggravated assault.

No one was hurt during Wednesday night’s incident in Scranton.
