The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute in our area is bringing a huge focus to encouraging people to get screened for colon cancer.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and to help bring attention to the cause, the cancer institute is gearing up for its tenth annual “C.A.S.U.A.L. Day”.

C.A.S.U.A.L. stands for "Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives".

Area businesses ranging from banks to grocery stores can still take part by purchasing $5.00 pins or $15.00 shirts for their employees.

Although C.A.S.U.A.L. day isn’t until Thursday, March 21, Wednesday is the deadline to sign up for shirts and pins.  To get involved call 1-800-424-67-24.

WNEP-TV is a proud media sponsor of casual day.
