PLYMOUTH -- William Goulstone, of Plymouth, was the man who was hit along Main Street in Plymouth, according to police.

We got in touch with one of his family members, who confirmed that he owned Bottle Caps, the bar right here near where the hit and run happened.

Flashing lights and caution tape surrounded the red car that police believe hit William Goulstone, 54, just after 2 a.m. Saturday along East Main Street in Plymouth. It was the scene of a hit and run that left Goulstone in critical condition at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.

Police believe the driver of this car hit him, stopped the car, got out, and ran off.

"I don't know how somebody can live with themselves," said Theresa Loftus, of Plymouth.

Goulstone's niece, who lives in Plymouth, told Newswatch 16 that her uncle and father co-own Bottle Caps, a bar just near where the hit and run happened. To regulars like Hannah Fox, William Goulstone is better known as "Slugger."

"Peter and Slugger are the ones that care of the bar and if there's a problem, hit the road," said Hannah Fox, of Plymouth.

Plymouth Police have the red car for evidence, but investigators will not say who's the owner of the car.

Rumors are circulating here in Plymouth about who else was involved in this hit and run but peeople we spoke with here say it doesn't matter who was involved, just that the person gets caught.

"Actually stopping the car and actually getting out of the vehicle and not seeing if the person's alright or not and just taking off. It's a disgrace I think," said Loftus.

"I wanted to cry. That's how sad it was. I wanted to sit at my house and cry when i heard about it. That's how good he is. He's a really sweet person, really pleasant person," said Fox.

Goulstone's niece told us earlier that Goulstone still has to undergo several surgeries at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. The district attorney says no arrests have been made, but the public is not in danger at this point. The hit and run is still under investigation.
