State Students Aboard Burning Bus

BEDFORD COUNTY — Several Penn State students were on a Martz Trailways bus that caught fire while on their way back from spring break.

It happened Sunday afternoon along Interstate 70 in Bedford County outside Shippensburg.

Passengers said they smelled smoke, yelled for the bus driver to pull over and five minutes later it went up in flames.

It was one of three buses headed back to State College from the Washington, D.C. area.

The other two buses picked up the students.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
