Interstate Traffic Slowed By Truck Fire

SCOTT TOWNSHIP — A truck fire closed a section of highway Monday morning in Lackawanna County.

According to PennDOT, Interstate 81 south was shut down when a rig caught fire near the Waverly exit (197).

It happened around 7:30 a.m.

Crews had the highway open again around 10 a.m.

There is no word on injuries or the cause of the fire.
