Winter Today, Spring Tomorrow

DREHER TOWNSHIP -- A lot of us have spent the week focusing on the forecast calling for this weekend to have temperatures in the 50s, but before we get to that, some parts of our area woke up to snow, up to a half a foot of it!

We found people in Wayne County riding the roller coaster of weather that March usually brings to our area.

Some were plowing several inches of snow at a playground that will probably be filled with kids enjoying mild weather in a day or so.

In the Newfoundland area of Wayne County, that swing started with around four inches of snow, and this winter wonderland comes the day before the forecast calls for a spring like weekend.

"I mean it's March, come on, but I'm hoping the weekend is really going to be in the 50s and 60s," said Whitney Shaw of Newfoundland.

Driving around we found a lot of spots where people didn't shovel the driveways or parking lots, probably because they know this isn't going to last for long.

"It will be all gone by Monday. Saturday, Sunday it will be all gone, by Monday for sure," said George Clause of Village RV Center.

Clause was plowing the parking lot at his business, Village RV Center. He said he was pretty much plowing just for fun, although he said he's hoping the forecast for spring weather means winter is nearly over in an area that knows winter weather well.

"Starts earlier and lasts longer!" said Clause.
