The first day of the District 2 AA Swimming Championships took place on Friday at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
The Holy Redeemer girls team took first place in the 200 yard medley relay while the Scranton Prep boy's won in the 200 yard medley relay.
Sophomore Katie Voitik won in the girl's 200 yard freestyle.
Marcus Wagner from Dallas won the boy's 200 yard freestyle race. It was his third district title of his career.
Mia Nonnenberg from Scranton Prep broke her won District 2 AA record in the 200 individual medley. Her 2012 time was 2:05.84. She shaved almost 2 seconds off that time in the win on Friday.
Ben Spencer from Tunkhannock set a new District 2 AA record in the boy's 200 individual medley.
