Scholarship Fund Established Honoring Corrections Officer

CANAAN TOWNSHIP — For the third day in a row, the federal prison near Waymart in Wayne County was in lockdown after a corrections officer was killed by an inmate Monday night.

There is still no information from anyone about what led to the killing or who the inmate is.

Eric Williams, 34, of Nanticoke was killed when authorities say a prisoner used a homemade weapon and attacked him.

His viewing is Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greater Nanticoke High School and his funeral is Saturday at Holy Trinity Church in Nanticoke.
