Flags Lowered To Honor Slain Officer

HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Governor Tom Corbett has ordered all state flags in the capitol complex and at state buildings in Luzerne County to be flown at half-staff to honor fallen corrections officer Eric Williams of Nanticoke.

Officials say Williams was stabbed to death by an inmate Monday night at the federal prison near Waymart, but they haven’t released any other information. 

Funeral services have been set for Williams.eric williams

His viewing is Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.at Greater Nanticoke High School gym.

The funeral is Saturday morning at St. Faustina parish, Holy Trinity church in Nanticoke.
