MORELAND TOWNSHIP -- On Thursday, Barry Sones of the Muncy area will fly to California to begin a cross-country bicycle ride.

Sones, who survived a bad motorcycle crash four years ago, is hitting the road for the PA Wounded Warriors Project. In the next six weeks, Sones, who is an avid outdoorsman and farmer, will bike and hunt across the country, from Los Angeles to Jacksonville, Florida.

So far, Sones said he's been able to raise $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause he feels is important in order to help men and women badly injured while serving their country.

"They're without arms and legs, all other things, we need to do everything we can to support them," he said.

If you are interested in contributing to Sones' ride he is accepting donations on behalf of the PA Wounded Warriors:
