POTTSVILLE — A health care aide has been charged with stealing from the person she was caring for in Schuylkill County.
Authorities said the victim is an 81-year-old woman who lives in the Luther Ridge Nursing Home in Pottsville.
State police said Jennifer Ferrier, 39, of Cressona used the woman’s ATM card to get cash, groceries, gifts, and gasoline at various places in Schuylkill County from October 2012 to January 2013.
Trooper said Ferrier got over $21,000 in cash and purchases.
She was charged Tuesday with theft, receiving stolen property, and access device fraud.
Ferrier was released on bail.
