CARBON COUNTY---People crowded onto slopes this Presidents' Day at Blue Mountain Ski Area and Resort in Carbon County.

Snowboarding or skiing, folks young and old enjoyed the holiday.

"It's beautiful, today's a really nice day, a little cold in the morning but the sun ame out blue skies, really nice weather for skiing and boarding," said Steven Csanadi of Walnutport.

The three day holiday weekend is a traditionally busy time for ski resorts.

Blue Mountain officials said in the past three days, they have had about 35-thousand folks hitting the slopes.

It was their best holiday weekend this season, according to officials.

"It's right in the middle of the season, and people have snow on their lawns and they're thinking about skiing and boarding and they're still in the winter mode right before spring hits," said Heidi Lutz of the ski area.

For some, it is a tradition to spend Presidents' Day weekend skiing or snowboarding.

"Its been awesome, I fell a couple times it didnt feel too good but otherwise,it's pretty fun," said Michael Gambardella of New York.

"It's good it's fun, it took me a while to get back into it but it's good, it's fun," said Aaron DeMarco, also of New York.

While the holiday weekend has been the best so far this season folks,  at Blue Mountain said Presidens's Day, itself, was been a bit slower than previous years because of students from New York and New Jersey.

"What we've seen is schools in New York and New Jersey are having make-up days as Sandy, so it's not quite as busy as we would like, but it's still been a great weekend," said Lutz.
