WILKES-BARRE — Copper thieves hit a church and house in Luzerne County over the weekend.
Police believe that sometime Friday or Saturday, somebody tried to steal copper drain pipe from First Presbyterian Church on South Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Then, Saturday or Sunday, someone broke into a house on Oregon Street and took copper piping from the basement along with the water meter.
