SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP — State Police are investigating a phone scam that happened in Bradford County.

Troopers said a woman was contacted and told she would receive $2.5 million and a new Lexus if she sent $2,000.

The clerk at the business where the victim purchased a prepaid card alerted the authorities, and State Police managed to stop the woman before she made the money exchange.

Officials said the the calls were coming from three numbers: 876-873-7576 and 347-894-9078 with the I.D. of “Bidaxis”, and 469-317-7860 with the I.D. of “Visual Voice”.
