Hundreds of Penn State students will be on their feet for 46 hours straight this weekend in a battle against childhood cancer.  Penn State’s THON is taking over the Bryce Jordan Center.

THON raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund.  It supports children and their families in the fight against cancer.  It also funds research to find a cure.  The Bryce Jordan Center will packed with around 700 dancers, thousands of supporters and the Four Diamond children and their families.  Hundreds of people from Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania are involved.  Children suffering with cancer from our area are getting help from the Four Diamonds Fund.

Last year, THON raised a record breaking $10.68 million.  Students are hoping to once again break a record this weekend.  Since 1977, THON has raised more than $89 million.

Look for coverage of THON this weekend on Newswatch 16, we will have a crew there as it all wraps up on Sunday.

Check out a photo gallery of last year’s THON.
