Deadly Crash Near Pottsville

WAYNE TOWNSHIP — One person was killed in a wreck in Schuylkill County.

It happened on Route 183 in Wayne Township, near Pottsville, around 10 a.m. Friday.

According to troopers, the driver of the car lost control, crossed the center line and was hit by a pickup truck going in the other direction.

A passenger in the car, Courtney Hengen, 22, was flown to the hospital but died from her injuries.

The driver and a child in the back seat, along with the pickup driver and passenger, were taken to hospitals, according to investigators.
