Top Award For Kingston Educator

KINGSTON — A teacher from Luzerne County won the top award at a celebration of education in Washington.

Leslie Nicholas, a teacher in the Wyoming Valley West school district, was awarded a $25,000 prize at the gala last weekend. He had previously won a $10,000 prize.

Nicholas received the The NEA Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence and $25,000.

He was one of 38 teachers honored by the NEA at the event on the weekend.
