Fire Chief On Trial

WILKES-BARRE – Pre-trial wrangling delayed opening statements Tuesday in the trial for a fire chief in Luzerne County.

John Yuknavich is accused of stealing more than $11,000 from the Wilkes-Barre Township fire department between 2008 and 2010.

Investigators believe he took the money from the fire company’s bank account and deposited in his own account.

Opening statements are now set for 9 a.m. Wednesday.
