Cardinal Ratzinger Becomes Pope Benedict XVI

SCRANTON -- The year 2005 saw significant change in the Catholic Church. On April 2, Pope John Paul II passed away.

The Vatican began their search for successor and on April 19, the papal conclave concluded with the election of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany.
