WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK -- A man in New York is being brought back to our area to face homicide charges for the death of his wife more than two years ago.
Robert Jufer, 71, has been charged with the 2010 death of his wife in Wayne County.
He was arrested Wednesday in New York.
He appeared before a judge in White Plains, New York around 9:30 a.m. where it was decided that he should be sent back to Wayne County of face charges in the death of his wife.
Authorities believe Jufer shot his wife June in their home in Cherry Ridge Township in October of 2010 and then blamed her death on intruders who choked him until he blacked out.
Some neighbors said they never believed his story.
Jufer is scheduled to be arraigned in Honesdale at the county courthouse.
