MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP –Two people were killed in a wreck in Northumberland County.
The deadly crash happened on Route 54 in Mount Carmel Township around noon.
A woman driving an SUV and a man driving a pick-up truck were taken to hospitals after their vehicles crashed head on, according to authorities.
Police said two adult male passengers were killed. Their names have not been released.
The road is closed at Route 61 at Strong and Park Avenue , according to PennDOT. A detour is in place. Crews said they expect the road to be closed until Monday evening.
Authorities have not said what caused the crash.
