Coroner: Woman’s Death Natural Causes

WILKES-BARRE — A woman who police thought had been beaten in her home in Luzerne County died of natural causes, according to the coroner.

Lorraine Stelma, 69, was found in her home in December.

She died a few weeks later in January.

Authorities originally treated the home as crime scene. Investigators indicated that neighbors believed the woman had been beaten.

The Luzerne County D.A. said that pending a review of the coroner’s report, no charges are expected.
