On the 20 year anniversary of the Carbondale boy's basketball state championship win over George Jr. Republic the team was honored between games on Saturday afternoon at the Carbondale high-school gymnasium.
The Chargers went (30-0) back in 1992-1993 season and won the PIAA AA state title in memorable fashion on Leo Skorupa's shot for the 65-63 win at Hershey.
The team from that decade took photos and gathered with school officials, fans, and friends for a fine Saturday afternoon. The Forest City girls won the game over the Carbondale girls while the Carbondale boys beat Forest City in the late game.
