Fire In Carbon County Home, Man Arrested

LEHIGHTON — A man faces charges for setting a fire in at least one home Wednesday morning in Carbon County and authorities say the home belonged to the suspect’s sister.

Russell Young from Carbon County was taken into custody shortly after he set fire to his sister’s home along North Third Street in Lehighton, according to police.

Young is locked up in the Carbon County prison.

Authorities said they are investigating another fire in Lehighton about an hour earlier.

According to police, fire broke out at a home along Carbon Street in Lehighton around 7:30 a.m.

No one was home at the time, according to crews on the scene. The other side of the home has slight damage. There is no word when the people living there can return.
