After dropping 5 of their first 6 games, Wyoming Valley West has worked out the kinks and are sailing their way through conference play with ease. The turnovers are down, the quality shots are up. And so is the team's confidence.

"We're just gelling more as a team.  We played some tough teams in the beginning and it was a tough schedule, but now that we've gotten into conference we're pulling together and working hard during practice," said senior Brett Good.

"We seem very resilient right now in our play and that's a good sign for a coach.  They're hungry, they want to play, and let's hope it continues for the remaining 7 games," said head coach George Reimiller.

Coach Reimiller is pleased with the progess they've made since the first couple weeks of the season.  Coach is seeing good execution and good effort. Win or lose, he can be proud of how the team has played.

The Spartans have found their trojan horse in Jaquan Ingram.  This secret weapon is not so secret being their go-to guy for getting rebounds and making them count, but many teams have found difficulty in shutting him down.

"Our big guy Jaquan seems to be our force in the middle.  Everybody relies on him to get the rebounds and block the shots.  He's doing a great job," continued Reimiller.

Along with Jaquan, there's been a different player stepping up and scoring big from game to game.  This could be what keeps the momentum to achieve the teams' goals.

"Hopefully district championship then state playoffs.  We got there my sophomore year but we didn't accomplish it, we didn't get a "W" So hopefully this year we can get past the first round of states," said Good.
