Fire Leaves Family Homeless
RUSH TOWNSHIP — A family was left homeless after a fire destroyed their ranch-style home on Crest Haven Road, behind Route 54, in Northumberland County.
The fire started just after 6 a.m. Saturday, and drivers traveling on Route 54 reported flames could be seen for miles.
Firefighters worked in below-freezing temperatures for several hours before they could bring the fire under control, but the house is a loss.
Marvin and Janelle Eshbach along with their four children resided there but no one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
