WILKES-BARRE — Nearly a dozen Wilkes-Barre city firefighters, who were laid off in December, will return to work this February.

Mayor Tom Leighton said he personally called the firefighters to tell them they should report back to work on February 8.

Eleven firefighters were furloughed, along with several other city employees, because of a budget deficit.
