“Doc” Mattioli Into Hall of Fame
Dr. Joseph “Doc” Mattioli was inducted posthumously into the National Motorsports Press Association Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame Saturday night in Charlotte North Carolina.
“Doc” passed away last year after nearly four decades as the track owner and operator of Pocono Raceway. He was instrumental in bringing Indy Racing to Pocono and many Winston and Sprint Cup races at the highest level of NASCAR.
Going into the hall with “Doc” NASCAR executive Jim Hunter and broadcaster Ken Squier.
