Rig, Car Collide In Luzerne County

DUPONT -- A crash in Luzerne County sent one man to the hospital and shut down a road. 

The wreck happened at the intersection of Main and Almond Streets in Dupont around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said a car and a tractor-trailer collided.

The trucker was not hurt.

The driver of the car had to be cut out his vehicle. There is no word on his condition.

Main Street was closed where it runs into Route 315 while troopers reconstructed the crash and cleared the scene. The road reopened Friday morning.

Authorities said there could be charges in connection with the crash.
