Wilkes-Barre Coughlin built a 10-0 lead over Pittston Area after two matches in a WVC Division I wrestling match-up Wednesday night in Wilkes-Barre.
That lead sliced to four after Tyler Lutecki (Pittston Area) won of forfeit. It was 10-6 Coughlin.
Bill Poray (Coughlin) won by major decision at 132lbs 9-1 over Donnie Parham to hold the lead at 14-12.
At 152lbs Pittston Area's Kevin Wesolowski pinned Josh Tarnalicki at 3:39 to pull his team to within three of Coughlin at 21-18.
At the next weight class 160lbs Pittston Area's Justin Wilk won by technical fall over Dave Sterba 17-2. It was a big five point swing giving the Patriots a 23-21 lead.
The Pittston Area Patriots would go on to win 38-30 over Wilkes-Barre Coughlin.
