POINT TOWNSHIP -- Fire gutted a mobile home early Wednesday in Northumberland County.
The blaze started just before 6 a.m. along 8th Street in Northumberland borough.
The fire chief said no one was home at the time.
Fire officials said they were able to keep the fire from spreading to other homes nearby.
A neighbor said the flames were so intense that he and his parents had to leave their home.
“The heat was coming right through the trailer and they were pounding on the door. We had to go out the back. They carried my mom because she had a fractured back,” said Jeff Wenrick.
A state police fire marshal will look for a cause.
