Folks were hitting the slopes in Susquehanna County to help fight a potential killer.

Dozens of skiers helped raise money for the Lupus Foundation of Pennsylvania Sunday.

Elk Mountain hosted the 16th annual Ski for Lupus Day.Skiers could purchase half-day lift tickets at a discounted price. All money raised from the event benefits projects, programs, and research for the Lupus foundation in our area.

And there was a free day of fun for some special children and their parents in Wilkes-Barre.

Heinz Rehab Autism Outreach program sponsored the day of bowling at Stanton Lanes Sunday.

There was plenty of food and gifts for the kids.

Organizers said the event provides an opportunity for children with autism to socialize, something many with the disorder struggle with.

The event also gives parents a chance to talk with others who face the same challenges.
