WILKES-BARRE – Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis told Newswatch 16 that investigators are focused on processing a vehicle suspected in the deadly hit-and-run of a 5-year-old boy last month before filing charges.

A state police crash reconstruction team and Wilkes-Barre officers returned to the scene on West North Street and Franklin Street Monday morning and closed down the intersection for nearly two hours to mark the pavement and take measurements.

According to a search warrant issued Friday afternoon, Wilkes-Barre police seized a red Pontiac Grand Am from a driveway on Mack Street and named Thomas Letteer, 22, Plains Township, as a person of interest in the deadly hit-and-run.

Management at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs confirmed that Letteer works as a valet at the casino but has been suspended because of the criminal investigation.
